The Story Behind Us

Navreeta Foundation started its journey in March 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, teaching Kavita, an underprivileged girl. Kavita, at an early age of 10 started working as a domestic helper. She worked hard day and night to fulfill the basic needs of her family and supported her parents for survival.

It was during the pandemic crisis when our Founder/President Ms. Anjali Taj noticed Kavita’s urge to study and decided to teach her realizing her financial instability. Since then Ms. Anjali along with the help of Mr. Punit as a volunteer, started teaching her and she was admitted to grade 3, in school after a few months. This was just a stepping stone to Navreeta’s journey when on 31st July 2020, our founder Ms. Anjali was teaching Kavita, sitting in the park and a few other children playing in the park noticed them. These children were also underprivileged and were noticing these past many days coming to the park and studying. Filled with excitement and enthusiasm, these children approached Ms. Anjali and requested to teach them as well. The parents of these children were laborers and their families couldn't afford their education.

Our Programs

एक नई पहचान (Animal Welfare Program)

Navreeta Foundation has always been concerned with the care and well-being of all animals. We feed birds and street animals like dogs, cows, and pigs and provide necessary treatment whenever it is needed. Sheltering them from adverse weather conditions too with whatever means we have has always been a priority. Our team is also a strong advocate of adopting pets rather than purchasing one from a breeder.

एक अनोखा परिवार (Oldage Care Program)

Navreeta Foundation had long back undertaken the responsibility of caring for the elderly citizens of the society. We care for them by providing monthly rations to the ones who unfortunately do not possess the financial stability to look after these basic needs. Medical health checkups are done when necessary to ensure they are in good health or receiving treatment for their ill health. We pay them visits from time to time to be in their company and also visit some old age homes. Caring for the aged to look after their social and personal requirements ensures that they aren’t left with unmet care needs so that they age with dignity. The senior citizens under our care are our biggest motivators and always have the brightest smiles on their faces, giving us all the more reason to keep hustling every day.

एक नई दिशा ( Super 35 Students)

The free education classes being provided by the Navreeta Foundation began way back with just one student. Anjali Taj taught her for a few months in a hostel room and then got her admitted to a school. Later she started teaching her in a park which attracted the attention of several other kids who were eager to learn and joined the lessons. Navreeta Foundation now works at three places to provide free education classes in the morning and our batch of underprivileged kids is called SUPER 35. There are 2 locations in Lucknow- Chinhat and Triveni Nagar- and one in Banda city where this learning is facilitated. We also have some generous people associated with us who sponsor the fees of 6 school-going kids.

एक नई सोच ( Menstural Hygiene Awareness Program)

The Menstrual Health and Hygiene Awareness Program by Navreeta Foundation, where sanitary napkins are also distributed, has been conducted several times to educate people who dwell in lesser privileged sections of the cities.

The team informs them why using sanitary pads is safe and much better than using a cloth for their periods. They are dutifully instructed on how to use sanitary pads, when to change them, and how to dispose of them. These sanitary pads are distributed monthly at just the cost of ₹5 by a female head from the village who uses the total sum as her income.

एक नया जीवन ( Blood Donation Program)

It is very often that we receive requests regarding blood donation for patients admitted to hospitals. All members of the Navreeta Foundation work to fulfill these requests voluntarily. More than 15 volunteers to date have donated blood to help families. Our founder, Anjali Taj, has donated blood more than 20 times.

The details of the patients are taken in a proper set format with all the necessary information and are quickly shared with friends, family, and on our social media accounts to provide help as soon as possible.
